A study is essentially completed when it has been executed and the feedback has been compiled into a report (whatever form this may take). But what happens then?
We strongly recommend scheduling a debrief session with all interested parties to review the results and give the UX researcher the opportunity to explain the feedback and recommendations, as well as allow for questions. It closes the loop with the stakeholders who participated in the original kick-off session, ensuring that the value of the UX study does not go unnoticed, and it's a good forum for agreeing, as a whole, what the next steps should be with regards to the UX strategy. Ideally, a UX study is not a one-off endeavor: it is a recurring event, and previous studies feed into what future studies should cover.
