Chapter 2: Braket Devices Explained

This chapter will go over the various devices that are currently (as of May 2022) available within Amazon Braket. It is very important to clarify upfront that these are all considerably different devices in their technology and purpose. The devices are organized under quantum processing units (QPUs) and simulators.

This chapter will go over important details of each quantum processor and simulator. We will review each device’s architecture since this will be relevant to how we use that device. We will also review the costs of using the devices. Because Amazon Braket is an evolving technology, it is important to refer to the Amazon Braket service for current information; however, these chapters will discuss more general topics to orient the reader.
