Getting ready

You'll need a Cordova project for this chapter. You're welcome to use our project in the code package for this book, or you can create one yourself. You'll need to add the appropriate platforms and plugins in order to create a valid project.

If you're creating the project based on the code package for this book, use the following code to create a new Cordova project:

cordova create ch6 com.example.ch6 TaskerCH6 --copy-from /path/to/code/package/ch6

Tip

If you're creating the project from scratch, leave off the --copy-from switch.

Next, add the following requisite platforms and plugins; we'll cover what the plugins do as we progress through the chapter:

# Add platforms – remove iOS if not on a Mac:
cordova platform add ios android
# The following plugin is one you're already familiar with; we
