Curating Data Models

The foundation of any technology project involves combining the data you have with the data you will collect in a meaningful way. However, you need to ensure that the data is stored/encrypted with the right protocols based on the dataset. While you do have to plan for data to share and collect with your audience, you also need to think about how that data is contained within the Salesforce ecosystem, so we need to review how to connect to internal and external systems.

Our focus is now on designing our data models and enterprise architecture. These data maps will ensure that all teams are aligned with how the information will flow, a key step to curating a user-centric design that will increase your digital engagement.

Here’s what you will learn in Chapter 4:

  • Connecting the data dots
  • Identifying data sensitivity
  • Curating an enterprise architecture map
  • Create an entity relationship diagram (ERD)
