Summary

In this chapter, we looked at a variety of techniques for combining multiple images, firstly, as a panorama, where six images of a beach were stitched together seamlessly to form a single image.

We then recapped some of the healing and retouching techniques covered in previous chapters to remove tourists and other distracting elements from a beach using the Spot Healing Brush tool and the Clone Stamp tool. Photoshop also gave us a helping hand during the stitching process to fill in uneven, empty regions around the edge of the panorama with Content-Aware Fill.

We then used two unrelated images to form a double-exposure effect by generating accurate selections and layer masks to overlay the image of an atmospheric nighttime street scene over the figure of a woman.

Using a similar set of techniques, we created an unusual overlay effect, combining two photos: one of my head and shoulders, and another where I held my hands over my face. Once combined and aligned together...
