Tweaking the shadows


A shadow can be defined as an area that is not or is only partially illuminated because an object is obstructing its source of illumination. It is true that we don't think that shadows are important and essential elements to create a good-looking scenario, but without them our project will be dull. This recipe is going to help us use the Shadow effect to tweak and correct the shadows in order to meet our requirements and the finishing look we want to accomplish.

Getting ready

Before we start, it is essential that you have at least a small clip created in the Movie mode or an image if you are using the Photo mode where we can see the effect.

How to do it…

To tweak the shadows in your scene, perform the following steps:

  1. Open the Photo or Movie mode using the buttons on the right-hand side of the screen.

  2. Create a small clip if you are using the Movie mode.

  3. After selecting the clip on the top-left corner of the screen, click on the New effect button.
