Enhancement drivers of an organization

As we have emphasized in previous chapters, it is one thing to implement observability and another to maintain it. It is analogous to a house plant. Bringing home a plant and putting it in a pot is not the best use of the plant; it has to be watered, fertilized, pruned as per seasons, and repotted over time. The success of such long-term observability implementations is largely affected by organizations and their cultures, as discussed in Chapter 6 and Chapter 7. Such implementations need constant enhancements as per the demands of the organization. To achieve this, certain drivers need to be put in place.

Engineers and architects can implement an idea that yields technical and business benefits but its adoption across the organization is the responsibility of leadership. Many times, it needs grit and constant push as most teams do not like change or stepping out of their comfort zone. The value of the implementation has to be constantly repeated...
