Monitoring the XenApp® site


Even though the delegated administration model adds solid structure to the XenApp permission model, no organization can function efficiently without the proper monitoring tools in place. In fact, monitoring is not just a necessity, it's an industry! Sometimes, it feels like there are so many monitoring applications that it's hard to choose the right one that combines powerful tools with cost effectiveness. Companies, such as Lakeside Software, SolarWinds, Extrahop, and ControlUp develop and sell enterprise-ready monitoring software used by many companies in the end user computing space. There is also a web-based tool called Citrix Director that comes free with the XenApp 7.6 ISO. Director can be installed on an IIS-enabled server and can reside on the same machine as the Delivery Controller. The console provides visibility into the entire XenApp site, including session count, user logon times, active processes and open applications, launch failures, and others...
