- It’s used for covering up an edit underneath it.
- B-roll is used.
- The selected clip (or part of a clip) is connected to that point.
- Audio connects below, while video connects above. (Video can be moved below the Primary Storyline, but audio cannot be moved above the Primary Storyline.)
- Its waveform is missing.
- The filmstrip isn’t shown, which would indicate a ripple edit.
- Storylines can be used.
- You do so by using ⌥⌘-click (Option-Command-click) on the connected clip or Storyline.
- You hold down ` (grave) on the same key as ~ (tilde).
