Building a governance team
Now that we've reviewed the core things that governance covers, you may be wondering, "Who does the work?"
That's where a governance team comes into play. A governance team is responsible for taking business and technical requirements and formulating those into policy. A governance team should look to seek inputs from a variety of sources, including the following:
- Owners of business processes, services, or applications
- Enterprise architecture, service desk, and operations teams
- Security team
- Legal, records management, and compliance representatives
- Microsoft 365 message center or other product announcement channels
