The following is the order of how the full editing process takes place to produce a worthwhile video production.
Steps in video post-production
The post-production process involved the following steps:
- Ingesting or importing the media:
While this is not strictly part of the pre-editing process, ingestion needs to be done before everything else. If you feel unsure of the organizational structure, refer to Chapter 1.
- Organization or logging:
The imported media is shot in the order of the storyboard, which will be different from the sequence order of the final video. Logging categorizes the media with labels rather than the order in which it was shot.
- Initial assembly:
The logged footage is moved into the approximate order that will resemble the order in the final video.
- Rough cut:
The rough cut has the same key scenes as the initial assembly but gives more attention to pacing. The rough cut shows any holes where more footage...
