Cloud computing

Cloud computing is the practice of using remote servers hosted on the internet to store, manage, and process data, rather than a local server or a personal computer. Cloud computing simply means the use of computing resources as a service through networks, typically the internet.

With cloud computing, users can access computing resources via the internet from anywhere, for as long as they need, without worrying about the maintenance or the management of actual resources.

The following are some of the characteristics of cloud computing:

  • It provides the capability for organizations to access the data or application from anywhere, anytime, and from almost any device.
  • It provides the capability for the organization to scale the IT resources as per the business requirements at the optimum cost.
  • It provides the capability to monitor, control, and report the usage of the resources.
