Why do we need big data solutions?
Data refers to raw, unprocessed, unorganized facts, or details that might not make much sense or provide context. For instance, random numbers or statistics, unprocessed observations, or individual pieces of an incomplete dataset are all examples of data.
There are three main aspects of big data, often called the “3Vs,” which are volume, velocity, and variety:
- Volume: Refers to the massive amounts of data produced by different platforms and devices. These platforms can generate data every second, making it impossible for traditional data processing tools to handle.
- Velocity: Refers to the speed at which data is produced and processed. Businesses require real-time or near-real-time information to make informed decisions.
- Variety: Indicates the different types of data. Data can be structured, semi-structured (such as JSON), or unstructured (such as free text or video).
