We need to update our OpenStack setup periodically with the latest releases of our operating systems. This is a good practice to get various bug fixes and security patches. Most of the popular Linux projects, such as CentOS, Fedora, Debian, and Ubuntu, release qcow2 images or other compatible formats to support private clouds such as OpenStack.
