Maltego is a software developed by Paterva, a South African-based software company, to provide a framework to discover the data collected via open source intelligence (OSINT) and visualize it via easy-to-understand graphical representations. This is a very useful tool, as hackers or penetration testers usually try to collect as much information as possible before moving on to the next step. Maltego is treated as one of the best information gathering and data mining tools currently available. Users can query many types of data integrated with Shodan, VirusTotal, archive.org’s Wayback Machine, TinEye, and MITRE ATT&CK.
