ESXi hosts that are deployed using Auto Deploy require the Auto Deploy server to be available and reachable every time the host reboots. However, if the network boot fails, the server will not have a source to continue the boot process. Enabling stateless caching adds a level of resiliency covering for situations where-in the network boot (PXE boot) fails. The stateless caching mode can be enabled by editing the host profile associated with the ESXi host.
In this recipe, we will learn how to enable stateless caching.
