ICS proprietary protocols

ICS proprietary protocols, unlike open-source protocols, are built and owned by a single organization. OEMs impose usage limitations, such as with a patent or their implementable trade secrets, which prevent their protocol from benefiting anyone outside their product reach. These protocols are tailored to just the organization’s products and services and are not open for use by other developers or companies. On the flip side, open source offerings are adjustable and available to anyone, providing equipped bidirectional use.
