TOGAF and its objectives
A large part of TOGAF is derived from the TAFIM framework developed by the United States Department of Defense. TOGAF, as well as other IT management frameworks, emphasizes cross-departmental coordination and alignment of IT initiatives with business objectives. Defining and organizing requirements in TOGAF before a project begins keeps the project moving smoothly with few errors. It is designed to assist enterprises with organizing and addressing commercial and strategic needs through four objectives:
- All stakeholders and team members must use a common language
- Don’t rely on proprietary solutions for your enterprise architecture
- Time and money can be saved, and resources can be utilized more efficiently
- A measurable return on investment (ROI) is required
