Summary


In this chapter, we have moved our Moodle site forward as a CIMS by first making small changes to three core file settings in order to modify the way categories are displayed, the way courses are displayed within categories, and to modify how many courses are displayed in a user's profile. These simple modifications enable us to better present a curriculum in a fashion that makes it easy to navigate and understand. We then installed the Content Pages block and set up several web pages inside our Moodle site with the block. Finally, we edited our third-party theme, Aardvark, in order to make the web pages we created easily accessible from the front page of our site. All of these tasks were performed with the purpose of adding an information 'skin' to our Moodle site that allows it to not only function as a VLE but also as an information portal for our educational program.
