Summary
In this chapter, we learned how to use MIB to configure both stopped and running Tuxedo applications. We performed an upgrade and a reconfiguration of the running application without creating any downtime or causing any visible impact. We also learned how to retrieve monitoring information from Tuxedo.
After reading this chapter, you should be able to perform many administration tasks with your Tuxedo application. You also recreated one of my favorite client, queue, and server monitoring scripts. Since Tuxedo itself is just a tool to develop applications, this might not be enough. However, you now have a good foundation to build on by exploring the huge Tuxedo MIB documentation and enhancing it with features that are specific to your application.
In the next chapter, you will learn about distributing transactions and how they work in Tuxedo.
