Developing security operations to support a hybrid or multi-cloud environment
Most enterprises have not become fully cloud-native, meaning that their entire infrastructure is utilizing cloud services. A cloud-native company would have all business applications using Microsoft 365, a customer relationship manager with Dynamics 365, databases on Azure SQL Database, and custom applications running in Azure. However, this is not the reality. These companies may utilize Microsoft 365, have databases and SharePoint servers in their on-premises data centers, and even store data in Amazon Web Services (AWS) S3 buckets or on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) BigQuery platforms.
Hybrid cloud companies are when a company is using cloud services, such as Azure, along with the on-premises infrastructure.
