An L-cut and a UFO!


In the last section you created a J-cut using cutaway shots that lead into dialog. The opposite of this technique is to have the dialog lead into a cutaway shot. This is called an L-cut.

In this task you will create a simulated shot of a UFO (supposedly shot on a mobile phone) and then insert that shot into the Timeline as an L-cut. To do this you will use a great, but often underused feature in Premiere Pro CS6, Nested Sequences, and you'll do some creative work with the motion and blur effects to sell the shot. This is to make the clip look like a shaky mobile phone recording. You've covered effects like this in Project 1 and Project 2, so again the instructions will be sparse in order for you to put into practice the skill sets you have learned so far.

Engage Thrusters

Create an L-cut and use Nested Sequences to add a UFO scene to your interview. Perform the following steps to do so:
