Example – Gantry

The last template framework we’ll get to know in this chapter is Gantry, developed by one of the most known Joomla template studios: RocketTheme.

Gantry is an open source, fast, and lightweight template framework that integrates an easy-to-use layout manager, mega-menu support with a visual editor, and a powerful particle system. Particles are simple blocks that can be imported and placed anywhere in your template.

Gantry implements a built-in way to handle overrides and allows you to have template styles derived from a base template. It’s a similar implementation to child templates, which we explored in Chapter 14, Child Templates, but it’s template specific.
