ハンズオンということで購入しました。確かに、ReactやGo, GoのフレームワークであるGinについては学べるかもしれませんが、この本で学習することは難しいと感じました。色々理由はあるのですが、最大の理由は、動作確認フェーズが全くないことです。通常の学習本であれば、一区切りついたら、動作確認をしてコードが正しく動いているか確認するフェーズがあると思います。しかし、この本にはそれがありません。また、書籍に乗っているコードをどのファイルに書けばいいのかなどの説明が足りなかったり、説明がないコードが追加されたサンプルコードが突然出てきたりします^^;結局、70%ほど進めたところで、学習をやめてしまいました。

Packt has a major problem with editing and content review, and it shows in the book. It's badly organized (reads like the transcription of a conference presentation in many ways), and is riddled with typos and material errors throughout; so much so, that if you don't already have a good grasp of the basics (Go, React), you'll likely pull your hair out trying to make the code work.So yes, there's a github site for the code, and that code works, but the fact that they never went back and fixed the book itself is a symptom of Packt's approach to publishing: Editing? What's that?

Mina Andrawos is an experienced Engineer who has developed deep experience in Go from using it personally and professionally. He regularly authors articles and tutorials about the language, and also shares Go's open source projects. He has written numerous Go applications with varying degrees of complexity. He is also the author of an upcoming course for Packt called “Go in Production”. Other than Go, he has skills in C#, Java, Python, and C++. He has worked with various databases and software architectures and has skills with the agile methodology in software development. Besides software development; he has working experience of scrum mastering, sales engineering, and software product management.
