Before training occurs


Planning and logistics are important for all meetings but especially for the training meeting. External factors can have an impact on the meeting, which will impact the outcome. The person conducting the training meeting should take an active interest in meeting logistics.

As a training pro, I'm reminded of it every time I plan a training session. I often say, "The mind can absorb only what the rear can endure." Think about it. It's true. Logistics is the first key to any meeting's success. Here are some logistics issues to think about when planning a meeting:

  • Logistics letter: When people need to travel for your meeting, consider drafting a single logistics letter providing information about how to get from the airport to the hotel or office, restaurants in the area, and so on.
