Creating Kibana maps
Kibana Maps is a place where you can create dynamic, informative maps from your data. In this recipe, you will learn how to use Kibana Maps to visualize and understand data in a spatial context.
Getting ready
To create map visualizations, ensure that you have completed the previous recipes in this chapter, as we will use the same dataset on Rennes traffic for this recipe.
How to do it...
For the Rennes traffic, we would like to understand the traffic fluidity by using a geographic map. Follow these steps:
- Head to Kibana | Analytics | Maps and then click on Create map.
- You’ll arrive at an empty map from which you can start adding layers. First, make sure that the time filter in the top-right corner is set appropriately for your data.
