Git basics – Begin with a hands-on experience

git config – Introduce yourself to Git

Now, there is something you need to do before you start a project. Introduce yourself to Git. To introduce yourself to Git, use the git config command:

$ git config --global user.name "John Doe"
$ git config --global user.email "john@example.com"
