Facing an ethical dilemma
Geertjan Wielenga: One of those ethical dilemmas is that you're an ambassador for a particular company. You may find yourself standing on stage and facing questions about something your company did that's all over the news. Have you encountered that situation?
Reza Rahman: Absolutely. Everybody in this role has encountered that situation. It's just like everything else in life: not black or white.
It might be that you need to do some things that you're not comfortable with in the short term because you believe that there's a long-term goal. The situation might work itself out, so you have to weigh that up. Also, you need to weigh up your integrity. There have been situations where it was so bad for me that I had trouble getting out of bed for months on end; my ethical dilemma was so profound. That's a horrible situation to be in as a human being. It's a good indicator that it's time to do something different professionally...
