Cybersecurity is a business problem and should be addressed as such. Looking at cybersecurity as an isolated problem and tackling the issue in isolation from other business operations will prove ineffective to organizations and lead to resource waste. Cybersecurity is concerned with keeping a company safe from cyber threats. Cyber threats, in the modern landscape, originate from all kinds of sectors. Both insiders, in form of employees, and outsiders, in the form of hackers, are potential threats to an organization. Both these threats aim to access the system and sabotage it or steal customer data for ransom or to be sold on the black market. It may also be a result of the vengeful actions of a disgruntled employee. Whatever the reasons for the attacks, cybersecurity affects the entire business and has a direct impact on business continuity.
