Understanding the market and your worth

As of 2023, the current job market for a CSA in the United States still looks promising from an average compensation perspective. Your level, skills, experience, and achievements in cloud computing, as well as the market supply and demand for your role, will determine your actual CSA compensation. To know the market and know your worth, you need to understand what expectations you can have at the junior, senior, and principal levels by region in the United States.

It is important to understand that total compensation includes more than just the base salary for the role. Also included will be any types of bonuses or benefits extended to the employee via the employer.

According to https://www.glassdoor.com, a junior CSA in the United States earns a total compensation of $127,473 per year on average, with a most likely range of $104,000 to $156,000 per year. However, this will likely vary by region, as shown in Figure 6.1:
