Chapter 6: Importing 3D Characters in CSP

In the previous chapter, I showed you how to create a character from scratch. In this chapter, I will show you how to import that character into Clip Studio Paint (CSP), starting with the nightmare-inducing UV unwrapping. After this, I will show you how to create a moveable character using a base skeleton; fortunately for you, a lot of the hard stuff is dealt with by Blender automatically. Later in the chapter, we will learn how to import this moveable character into Clip Studio Modeler (CSM), with the possibility of adding various facial expressions and poses. As a bonus, I will throw in a way to easily close multiple internet tabs.

This chapter will cover the following topics:

  • Preparing the mesh for importing in Modeler
  • Importing the character in Modeler

By the end of the chapter, you will have a finished textured and editable character in your materials.
