The Chrome Web Store

The Chrome Web Store was once the one-stop shop for ChromeOS browser-based add-ons. Users could visit the web store to find apps, browser extensions, games, and themes. Each add-on helped to further personalize your user experience by providing them with additional software tools and useful features to further enhance the already feature-rich Chrome web browser.

As previously mentioned, Chrome apps are slowly being decommissioned by Google. So, even though you may find a few resources that are still available for download in the Chrome Web Store, most apps will indicate that they are no longer available for download. They will instead direct you to the app’s website so that you can access the Google app version of the software, as seen in Figure 3.20.
