Services
At the beginning of this chapter, we already defined what a service is: it’s a managed capability provided through the platform to be used as a building block in our solutions.
These can be business services that you can almost immediately incorporate into a business process providing industry-specific or line of business (LOB)-related capabilities, for example, Document and Reporting Compliance, Data Privacy Integration, Business Entity Recognition, and so on. Otherwise, they are technical services that do not directly relate to a business context; instead, you can use them to build technical elements and applications.
What we also need to clarify at this point is that in the SAP BTP context, a service can refer to different technical things, even though all of them are present together in a single service catalog/marketplace. Let’s see them.
