Chapter 3: Developing and Organizing Objects
Now that we have some of the basics out of the way, we will start discussing the process of creating files within Illustrator by addressing basic organization with object and layer management techniques. This may seem a bit out of order, as we won't discuss creating objects in detail until the next chapter, but knowing a variety of organizational techniques will help you maintain a good level of control once you start creating. After completing this chapter, you will know how to select and combine objects, create layers, and migrate items from one layer to another.
Whether you are new to Illustrator or feel fairly accomplished in it, this chapter aims to encourage you to learn about and/or revisit methods of file management that will help you be more efficient with your time.
