Preparing your VMware Horizon View and Microsoft AD infrastructures for Kiosk Mode Clients

There are multiple prerequisites that must be met prior to enabling and deploying Horizon View Kiosk Mode Clients. This recipe will review these prerequisites and provide examples.

Getting ready

To enable our Horizon View infrastructure in order to support Kiosk Mode Clients, we will need access to the following resources:

  • The Active Directory Users and Computers (ADUC) console and the ability to create new AD OUs and security groups.
  • Active Directory Group Policy Management Console (GPMC) and the ability to create and apply new group policy templates.
  • The Horizon View Manager Admin console and the ability to create and entitle Horizon View desktop pools.
  • The VMware vCenter console and the ability to create and modify a VM. The TPVMGPoACmap.dll file is used to enable the configuration of location-based printing and is available on any Connection Server at Program Files\VMware\VMware View\Server\extras\GroupPolicyFiles...
