Adding content


Content is added to a Chart by adding elements from the Elements window into the Data Layout window. The Data Layout section is displayed at the bottom of the main window, and the window can be shown or hidden by clicking on the Data Layout button in the Section Title Bar. An example of the Data Layout window for the Vertical Bar chart is shown in the following screenshot:

Different chart types contain different options in the Data Layout. Elements are added to the different areas by the following three methods:

Drag-and-drop Method

Right-click method

Chart menu method

Highlight the column(s) in the Elements window

Left-click and drag the column to the Row Labels, Column Labels, or Fact area in the Data Layout window

Highlight and right-click on the column(s) in the Elements window

Select from the menu the desired location to add the column in the chart

Highlight the column(s) in the Elements Window

Click on the Chart Menu and highlight the Add Select Items menu item
