Designing the base part
With the top part of our trophy model completed, we are going to move into designing a base for the cup and post to rest on. This could be designed to be a single part, with the top part we designed previously connected permanently to the base, or the base could be a separate part that is assembled later. By modeling these parts separately, you can easily export and print them in different materials as demonstrated later in the Exporting and preparing for production section, though this is not a requirement for success. Regardless of which direction you choose to go in, we will start in a similar way as described through the following steps.
Creating a base platform
To create a base platform, follow these steps:
