BizTalk Documenter

The BizTalk Documenter is a community-driven, open source project located on CodePlex (https://biztalk2013documenter.codeplex.com/) that caters for the automated generation of documentation for your BizTalk environments. The project is active and has seen multiple releases in the last few years, which include new features and support for both BizTalk Server 2013 and 2013 R2. Some of the key features of the BizTalk Documenter are as follows:

  • Documentation of BizTalk receive and send ports, including adapter configuration, tracking settings, pipelines, maps, and adapter handlers
  • Documentation of core BizTalk artifacts, including schemas, maps, pipelines, orchestration, BRE vocabularies and policies, and party configuration
  • In depth documentation of orchestrations, including contained orchestrations
  • Selectivity in the form of being able to filter by application, orchestrations, and BRE vocabularies and policies
  • Ability to generate snapshot images of entire orchestrations
