In this chapter, you learned how to send data to files (specifically, plain files and spreadsheets). Then, you learned how to perform insert and update operations on relational databases. You also learned how to handle any errors that may occur. Finally, you were briefly introduced to using PDI to load datamarts, including time dimensions, other kinds of dimensions, and fact tables.
You already have the basic knowledge required for dealing with data in PDI. In the next chapter, you will learn how to orchestrate all of your work, including the work you have done so far, through the use of PDI jobs.
