Typing with your voice
So far in this chapter, we have focused on features to help people read a document—that is, to help people with visual impairments: people who are blind, low-vision, or color blind. But other people may require tools to help with other needs.
For those who have trouble typing, there is a newer feature called Dictate. When the feature first came out a few years ago, it wasn't very responsive or impressive. However, the tool does seem to have improved quite a bit. So, if you haven't used it lately, be sure to give it another try.
Tips for Typing with Dictate
If you plan on typing successfully with Dictate, make sure you use a headset microphone. Even though the feature will work with the built-in microphone on your laptop or webcam, those microphones will pick up a lot of room and ambient noise.
