Modifying the sun's settings

Setting up the Sun's direction and height is one of the simplest tasks in Lumion; however, by only using the Weather menu, we can start feeling that there is a lack of control over these settings. Fear not though! Lumion offers an effect that provides assistance to control the Sun in a way that can make all the difference when producing a video. This recipe will help you comprehend not only how you can modify the settings for the Sun, but will also provide you with a practical example of how you can apply this recipe in any project.

Getting ready

For this tutorial, we need to move from the Build mode to the Movie mode, and it is essential that you create a small clip to see the effect.

How to do it…

To modify the Sun's settings, perform the following steps:

  1. On the right-hand side of the screen, click on the Movie mode button.
  2. This will open the movie interface that initially looks like the following screenshot:
