A few days later – the first retrospective


When your Kanban implementation is young, a lot of things may go wrong. For that reason, it's good to have a short feedback loop in the beginning. That's why we recommend you have a short retrospective early, maybe even the second or third day. In this situation, we think the plus-minus-delta retrospective is most appropriate. Get the list of the most prioritized changes that are requested. Some of them are probably easy to fix. We usually call them Just do it. In this category, there are things like moving the daily sync to another time or to another room. All these changes need is a decision.

For the harder ones that need some effort, you need to have appointed persons and also some way to make sure they will be followed up. That is typically work for a Kanban master, if you have one, or you can handle it together by using a part of your board for improvement work.
