Chapter 10: Monitoring Network Services
The last chapter focused on the monitoring of storage devices. We spent time explaining the different storage services in the AWS ecosystem. We talked about Amazon S3, Amazon EFS, and Amazon FSx and the different ways they can be applied in different workloads. We then looked at how monitoring works in each of these services and how to look at key metrics to get a better understanding of what is going on from time to time.
In this last chapter on the monitoring of AWS services, we shall be looking at the monitoring of networking services. We will start by looking at the basics of computer networks, the different components, and the terms associated with computer networking. Then, we shall look at the different networking services in AWS and see a brief summary of what each of them is designed for and the purpose they serve as part of the networking stack in the AWS ecosystem.
