Deployment options for Sametime Gateway
Because the Sametime Gateway connects your corporate or organization's Sametime environment to external instant messaging communities, your security policies may require that you install Sametime Gateway in a fashion that permits limiting the risk to exposure from outside network attacks. Fortunately, the Sametime Gateway is designed with flexibility in mind and allows you to design your environment to fit your corporate firewalls and security procedures.
The Sametime Gateway Server itself needs to communicate with a DB2 server, LDAP server, and your Sametime Community servers. It also may communicate with AOL or XMPP networks such as Jabber or Google.
