Chapter 4. Making It Sound Better: Editing Your Podcast

With the recording session over, it's now time to get down to the editing. We'll first discuss the basics of what digital voice waves look like, how to move around in the timeline, and all the basics, such as playback, rewinding, fast forwarding, selecting portions of the voice track, and setting up Audacity so that you can see your entire project on the screen.

Then we're going to jump into editing details about how to cut, copy, paste, trim, delete, adjust volume levels, and silence portions of your track. Obviously, your voice track may not need every one of these items done to it, but we'll cover all of them. As you use Audacity more, this will give you the basics for almost any editing that needs to be done after a recording session.
