Making your image move by keyframing in the Viewer
As mentioned before, the Transform tool unlocks a lot of creative potential in FCPX. Being able to resize and reposition clips within your frame gives you a lot of flexibility to show multiple images at once in limitless creative ways. Let's turn the volume up to 11 using keyframes!
A keyframe allows us to lock in a parameter and its value at a specific moment in time on a clip. When we add a second keyframe later in the clip with a different parameter value, FCPX animates the difference between the two keyframes!
For example, we might drop a keyframe on the Scale value at 100% on the first frame of a clip. Then, on the last frame of the clip, we will set the Scale value to 0%. FCPX is pretty darn smart and automatically adds the second keyframe (as we have added the previous one already). The result is our clip scales down from 100% to 0% during its lifespan.
