Chapter 6: Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity
In the wake of increasing data breaches, ransomware attacks, and—based on recent happenings—global pandemics, the need for businesses to prepare for these eventualities has never been greater. Businesses are losing hundreds to millions of United States dollars (USD) every other day from successful attacks on their organizations. Since the cost of these attacks is huge, businesses need a plan in readiness for these events. Two plans, in this case, can prove helpful to a business when handling a security incident: a disaster recovery (DR) plan and a business continuity (BC) plan.
