Creating and configuring security groups

In this recipe, we will learn how to create a security group from a VPC dashboard. Similar steps can be followed for creating a security group from the EC2 dashboard. We can also create a security group while launching an EC2 instance.

Getting ready

Create a VPC by following the Creating a VPC in AWS recipe in Chapter 5, Network Security with VPC. You can also use the default VPC instead.
