Distributing your work

At some point you might desire to let others use your work, either for profit or for free. If you are just starting to make clothing for Studio figures, I suggest giving the first few examples for free so that you can gather feedback from the users. When people pay money for a product, they demand a certain level of quality and that can only be achieved after a bit of experience.

To distribute content we need to know how to package it. We need to make someone else, who doesn't have a single file of our product, able to add that product to his/her scene. It is necessary to be thorough and precise. Fortunately, Studio has all the tools to help us.

Choosing a file format

When we create objects, files, and other elements that define a product, like the dress in this chapter, the process happens incrementally and we rarely make the decision to keep an inventory of all the files that are necessary for making the same product work on a computer.
