Semantic grids with Neat

Neat is an open source semantic grid framework built on top of Sass and Bourbon. In this recipe, you will discover how to build semantic layouts with Neat.

Getting ready

To start, you will have to install Neat. It requires both Sass and Bourbon. In Chapter 1, Getting Started with Sass of this book, you can read how to install Sass, and installing Bourbon has been described in the Bourbon mixins for prefixing recipe of this chapter already. After installing Sass and Bourbon, you can install Neat by running the following command in your console:

gem install neat

Finally, run the following command in your project's sass directory to copy the Neat files into the neat directory:

neat install
